How you’ll help

You’ll welcome a puppy into your home on a short-term basis, providing care and stability when it’s needed. This can range from a single day to several weeks to support holiday or emergency cover.

While the puppy is in your care, you’ll continue their daily routines, socialisation and basic training, helping them build confidence.

Time and commitment

This is a hands-on role that requires daily care and supervision. If you’re covering for longer periods you may need to attend training sessions. Some puppies may need time and patience to settle into a new home.

Training and support

Our expert Trainers will be on hand to provide guidance and support. All puppy-related expenses are covered by Canine Partners, so you can focus on continuing the puppy’s training and care

Is this role right for you?

You don’t need previous experience, but you do need the right circumstances.

This role may suit you if you:

  • Can actively supervise and train a puppy each day
  • Have a secure, dog-friendly garden
  • Have access to a car for local training and socialisation
  • Want a hands-on role without a long-term responsibility

This role can suit families, including those with children and other pets, provided everyone is committed to the puppy’s training.

Renters are welcome with landlord permission.
