Dog Breeding Support Volunteer

Support our breeding programme by helping to give the next generation of assistance dogs the best possible start in life. Provide practical care for mum and puppies during their first weeks and play a vital part in their journey.

How you’ll help

You’ll work alongside an experienced Dog Breeding Volunteer, supporting them in their home as they care for mum and her litter during the first eight weeks. This includes supporting daily routines and helping to maintain a clean, safe, and calm home environment.

This role is currently available in the Midlands, South Yorkshire and Bedfordshire.

Time and commitment

This is a short-term role focused on the first eight weeks of a litter’s life, when consistent care and close supervision are essential.

The time commitment will vary depending on the needs of the litter and the volunteer you are supporting.

Training and support

Our breeding team supports you throughout the process. We provide guidance on health, feeding and puppy development, and we cover all breeding-related veterinary costs.

Is this role right for you?

This role may suit you if you:

  • Have access to your own transport
  • Feel comfortable working with newborn puppies
  • Want hands-on experience without long-term dog ownership

You don’t need breeding experience, but you must feel confident following our guidelines.
