Ever wondered how a playful puppy becomes a life-changing assistance dog?
Invite a Canine Partners Volunteer Speaker to your event and discover the journey from puppyhood to partnership, and how our dogs bring confidence and independence to disabled people’s lives.
What to expect
Our talks provide an engaging introduction to how we breed, train, and carefully match our dogs with disabled people. You’ll learn about the specialist skills our assistance dogs develop, their partnership journey, and the lifelong support we provide to ensure each partnership thrives.
Many of our speakers share personal experiences as part of a partnership or as a dedicated volunteers, providing insight into physical disability, inclusion, and the life-changing impact of assistance dogs.
Talks can be delivered online (20 to 30 minutes) or in person (30 to 60 minutes), depending on your needs. When possible, a canine partner may attend to support the session, although we can’t guarantee a dog will be present.
Why book a speaker?
Hosting a talk is a powerful way to raise awareness, inspire conversation, and bring your community together. It helps audiences better understand disability and inclusion, while highlighting the impact of assistance dogs across the UK.
We regularly speak to schools, community groups, and businesses, tailoring each session to suit your audience. If you’re unsure whether your event would be suitable, we’d be happy to discuss your plans.
Cost and donations
There is no charge for our talks, as we want them to be accessible to as many groups as possible.
As a charity, we rely on public support to fund our work. We suggest a donation of £50 to help cover costs, but any contribution is greatly appreciated.
