How you’ll help

You’ll provide a permanent, loving home for one of our broods. She’ll live with you as a family pet and may have around one litter each year. You’ll care for mum and puppies at home until they move on at around eight weeks old.

This role is currently available in the Midlands, South Yorkshire and Bedfordshire.

Time and commitment

This is a long-term role that can last four to six years, and sometimes longer. During pregnancy and the first eight weeks of a litter’s life, mum and puppies require close supervision. Broods should not be left alone for long periods during this time. Between litters, she lives with you as your pet.

Training and support

Our breeding team supports you throughout the process. We provide guidance on health, feeding and puppy development, and we cover all breeding-related veterinary costs.

You’ll need to attend required sessions and transport your brood to agreed appointments. Your brood and puppies remain the property of Canine Partners.

Is this role right for you?

This role may suit you if you:

  • Have a secure garden
  • Have space for a whelping bed and pen
  • Can closely supervise mum and puppies
  • Have access to a car for appointments
  • Have time to care for a dog long-term

You don’t need breeding experience, but you must feel comfortable following our guidelines.
